Description
Nalgene™ Amber HDPE Narrow-Mouth Bottles, Lab Quality are intended for storing, shipping and packaging light-sensitive liquids in the laboratory. Made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) in a brown amber colour, they offer excellent chemical resistance to most acids, bases and alcohols. The bottles provide a nominal volume of 0,03 l (30 ml) with a narrow-mouth design and an internal neck diameter of 14 mm. Each bottle is supplied with a 20 mm polypropylene screw closure in amber, without liner, for a secure seal. The round form supports efficient use on the bench and in storage. These lab-quality bottles from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics meet the light-transmission requirements of the US Pharmacopeia 23. They are well suited to protecting photosensitive reagents, standards and samples in analytical, pharmaceutical and research settings. Durable construction combined with reliable barrier performance against light and many common solvents makes them a practical choice for routine laboratory liquid handling and packaging tasks.

Questions about Nalgene™ Narrow-Mouth Amber HDPE Lab Quality Bottles
What is this article?
Nalgene™ Narrow-Mouth Amber HDPE Lab Quality Bottles is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.
A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.
A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
