Description
Nalgene™ Economy HDPE narrow-mouth bottles are lightweight containers for secure storage of samples and everyday working solutions such as buffers and reagents. As economy versions of the original Nalgene laboratory-grade bottles, they offer a 1000 ml (32 oz) nominal capacity in a natural translucent finish. Each bottle is produced from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with a narrow neck of 27 mm inner diameter and a natural polypropylene screw closure (38–430) without liner. The body measures 91 mm in diameter and 216 mm in height, giving a compact footprint for bench and storage use. Bottles and closures meet USP Class VI requirements and the food-contact criteria of US 21 CFR 177.1520, while manufacture follows ISO 13485:2016 quality requirements. They are not autoclavable and are supplied as reusable laboratory plastics rather than single-use items. Available as a case of 24 pieces from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics, these economy narrow-mouth HDPE bottles suit routine handling of aqueous reagents, buffers and comparable media where a dependable, cost-conscious vessel is required.

Questions about Nalgene™ Narrow-Mouth HDPE Economy Bottles
What is this article?
Nalgene™ Narrow-Mouth HDPE Economy Bottles is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.
A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.
A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
