Description

Nalgene™ PPCO narrow-mouth bottles with closure support laboratory applications that require excellent chemical resistance and autoclaving with or without contents. Constructed from polypropylene copolymer (PPCO) in a natural translucent colour, they allow visual assessment of fill level while remaining suitable for repeated sterilisation cycles. Nominal capacity is 60 ml (2 oz). The narrow-mouth design features a 14 mm inner neck diameter and is supplied with a 20 mm natural polypropylene screw closure without liner; the assembly is not configured for dispensing through the cap. Bottle geometry is Boston round, with a height of 3,34 in, aiding stable placement and efficient storage. Bottles and closures are manufactured in compliance with ISO 13485:2016 quality requirements and meet 21CFR177.1520 for food and beverage use as well as USP Class VI criteria. These autoclavable Nalgene™ containers from Thermo Scientific fit chemical handling, sample storage and process steps where PPCO performance and steam sterilisation are both needed. Supply format is 12 pieces per pack and 72 pieces per case, matching routine laboratory stock levels for narrow-mouth screw-cap bottles.

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Narrow-Mouth PPCO Bottles with Closure: Autoclavable is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
