Description
Nalgene™ phthalate-free PVC tubing is transparent laboratory-grade flexible tubing made from high-quality resins and orthophthalate-free plasticisers, setting clear standards for purity and quality in fluid handling. This roll offers an inner diameter of 6,4 mm, an outer diameter of 9,5 mm and a wall thickness of 1,6 mm over a total length of 30 m (100 ft). The phthalate-free PVC construction meets FDA CFR21 requirements for food packaging as well as USP Class VI, cytotoxicity, REACH, latex-free, RoHS and California Proposition 65 expectations. Available from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics, the tubing is autoclavable and may also be sterilised by gas or chemical methods. Hardness is Durometer 60 (A), with a recommended bend radius of four times the outer diameter. Maximum working pressure is 30 psig at 23 °C and 15 psig at 51 °C; maximum operating temperature is 71 °C. Vacuum level is very low. The clear, flexible hose supports visual monitoring of flow in laboratory and process applications where reliable, clean tubing is required.
This article is part of PVC, PTFE & other tubing, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about Nalgene™ Non-Phthalate PVC Tubing
What is this article?
Nalgene™ Non-Phthalate PVC Tubing is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in PVC, PTFE & other tubing, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.
PVC is the flexible everyday tube for water and mild aqueous liquids. PTFE is the stiff, almost inert tube for solvents. Other polymers sit between them. The bore, the wall and the chemical resistance are the specification, and the tube is cut to length.
Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
