Description

Nalgene™ PETG Biotainer™ Bottles are square, narrow-neck containers with a 5 l nominal capacity (1,3 US gal) intended for long-term storage applications in laboratory and bioprocess environments. Manufactured from PETG, each bottle is graduated for convenient volume reading and is supplied with a 48 mm closure already included. External diameter is 98 mm and overall height is 290 mm, while the neck inner diameter is 166 mm, giving a practical fill and pour geometry for bulk media, buffers and process intermediates. The square body improves shelf packing density compared with round bottles of similar volume. Product data indicate conformity with USP Class VI, non-cytotoxic performance, USP 〈661〉, pyrogen-free status and FDA 21CFR 177.1315, supporting use where validated single-use plasticware is preferred over reusable glass. Offered as a case of six from manufacturer Thermo Scientific, these Biotainer™ bottles help avoid cleaning, sterilisation and revalidation costs associated with multi-use containers while providing a consistent PETG format for storage and handling workflows.

Questions about Nalgene™ PETG Biotainer™ Bottles

What is this article?

Nalgene™ PETG Biotainer™ Bottles is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
