Description

Nalgene™ Griffin low-form plastic beakers in PMP (polymethylpentene) are transparent laboratory measuring vessels designed for repeated use in everyday wet-chemistry work. Each beaker has a nominal capacity of 2000 ml and is graduated from 200 ml to 2000 ml in 100 ml increments, supporting clear volume control during preparation and transfer steps. The low-form Griffin geometry gives a stable base for stirring and handling on the bench. PMP construction permits continuous service at 150 °C and short-term exposure up to 175 °C, so the vessels suit many heated laboratory procedures. Accuracy of the plastic scale conforms to the international ISO/DIN 7056 requirements for plastic laboratory articles. The beakers are autoclavable, non-disposable and reusable. Supplied as a case of four pieces from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics, they are well suited to research, quality-control and teaching laboratories that need durable, transparent plastic Griffin beakers for routine measuring and mixing tasks.

Questions about Nalgene™ PMP Griffin Low-Form Plastic Beakers

What is this article?

Nalgene™ PMP Griffin Low-Form Plastic Beakers is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Beakers, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.

A beaker is an open, straight-sided working vessel with a spout. It is for dissolving, heating and pouring. The graduations are a guide, not a volumetric calibration. Low form and tall form differ in stability and in how easily a liquid splashes.

A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
