Description

Nalgene™ polycarbonate centrifuge bottles support harvesting, pelleting and protein purification of large cell volumes in the laboratory. Each round bottle offers a nominal capacity of 500 ml (0,5 l) and is supplied with a polypropylene screw closure for secure sealing during centrifugation. Made from polycarbonate (PC), the bottles are autoclavable and rated to a maximum force of 13 700 × g, making them suitable for demanding runs with Fiberlite™ rotors. They are not graduated and do not support dispensing through the closure, focusing performance on bulk cell processing and clarification steps. Available as a case of 24 (4 per pack) from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics, these bottles provide a practical format for medium- to large-volume centrifuge workflows where clarity, mechanical strength and repeated autoclave cycles matter. Use them wherever robust PC bottles with included PP screw caps are required for cell harvest and protein work-up.

Questions about Nalgene™ Polycarbonate Centrifuge Bottles

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Polycarbonate Centrifuge Bottles is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Centrifuge accessories, inside Centrifuges, in Lab instruments.

Centrifuge accessories are the cups, the lids, the bottles and the spare seals named for a particular rotor. A lid that does not lock lets a tube leave the bucket. Aerosol-tight lids are a stated feature, not an assumption.

A centrifuge separates by density. The rotor spins the sample and the force is reported as a multiple of gravity, not as a raw speed, because the same revolutions per minute are a different force at a different radius. A microcentrifuge takes small tubes. A benchtop or floor model takes larger rotors. The tube, the adapter and the rotor have to be the combination the manufacturer rated. An unbalanced load is how centrifuges fail. Measurement of the related quantities sits with the BIPM.
