Description

Nalgene™ autoclavable carboys with tubing connector are polypropylene laboratory vessels intended for use with distilled water and culture media. Each unit offers a nominal capacity of 20 l (5,25 gal) and incorporates a bottom tubulation for controlled fluid transfer. Molded-in handles simplify lifting and transport, while molded-in graduations in 1 gal and 5 l increments enable rapid visual volume checks. The white polypropylene closure is size 83B and the neck inner diameter measures 64 mm; overall height with closure is 528 mm. These autoclavable carboys from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics withstand repeated sterilisation cycles and suit media preparation, bulk storage and dispensing workflows. Supplied as a case of four pieces, they provide a durable large-volume solution with integrated tubing connection for convenient outflow in research and production laboratories requiring reliable, graduated containers.

Questions about Nalgene™ Polypropylene, Carboy with Tubulation

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Polypropylene, Carboy with Tubulation is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Canisters & jerrycans, inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A canister or jerrycan holds litres, not millilitres, and it is shaped to be carried and to pour. The material has to survive the liquid for the whole time the can sits in the store.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
