Description

Nalgene™ Economy graduated cylinders in polypropylene (PP) are economical measuring cylinders for routine laboratory volume work. This 50 ml model carries 1 ml graduations and is calibrated to contain, supporting clear reading of liquid volumes in everyday procedures. The round cylinder with a round base stands securely on the bench and offers the excellent chemical resistance associated with polypropylene labware. Maximum temperature resistance is 120 °C (248 °F). Stated dimensions are an outer diameter of 0,91 in, an inner diameter of 1,32 in and a height of 7 in. Each unit is supplied one per pack within a carton of 18 pieces (case of 18). These economy PP measuring cylinders from manufacturer Thermo Scientific Nalgene are intended for general laboratory measuring and mixing tasks where durable plasticware is preferred. The product carries an ACT label. Suitable for teaching labs, quality-control benches and research settings that need reliable polypropylene graduated cylinders with straightforward scale readability and solid chemical resistance for standard aqueous and reagent handling.

Questions about Nalgene™ Polypropylene Economy Plastic Graduated Cylinders

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Polypropylene Economy Plastic Graduated Cylinders is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Measuring cylinders, inside Volumetric glassware, in Labware.

A measuring cylinder is the tall graduated vessel for a volume that does not need volumetric-flask accuracy. Class A and class B differ in tolerance. Reading the bottom of the meniscus, at eye level, is part of using it.

Volumetric glassware is glass that has been calibrated to contain or to deliver one stated volume at a reference temperature. That calibration is the whole point. Class A and class AS have a tighter tolerance than class B. A volumetric flask contains. A pipette and a burette deliver. A measuring cylinder is the coarser reading, used when the volume is not the result. The classes sit under ISO laboratory glassware. The chain back to the unit of volume is the work of the BIPM and of NIST.
