Description
Nalgene™ polypropylene graduated cylinder, 25 ml is a durable measuring cylinder for accurate volume work in general laboratory applications. Moulded from polypropylene (PP), it features permanent graduations, a large pouring spout and a substantial blue hexagonal base for stability on the bench. Nominal capacity is 25 ml with a tolerance of ±0,34 ml, accuracy class B, and graduations from 1,5 ml to 25 ml in 0,5 ml steps. The cylinder is calibrated to contain and to deliver, supporting both filling and dispensing routines. It meets the requirements of CFR 21 Part 177.1520, ASTM Class B E 1272 and ISO 6706. Autoclavable up to 121 °C, it withstands repeated sterilisation cycles without loss of readability. Supplied as a case of 18 pc(s), these cylinders from Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics suit preparation, dilution and routine volumetric tasks in chemical, life-science and industrial labs where shatter-resistant plasticware is preferred over glass. The round body and generous spout promote controlled pouring and easy cleaning between samples.

Questions about Nalgene™ Polypropylene Graduated Cylinders
What is this article?
Nalgene™ Polypropylene Graduated Cylinders is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Measuring cylinders, inside Volumetric glassware, in Labware.
A measuring cylinder is the tall graduated vessel for a volume that does not need volumetric-flask accuracy. Class A and class B differ in tolerance. Reading the bottom of the meniscus, at eye level, is part of using it.
Volumetric glassware is glass that has been calibrated to contain or to deliver one stated volume at a reference temperature. That calibration is the whole point. Class A and class AS have a tighter tolerance than class B. A volumetric flask contains. A pipette and a burette deliver. A measuring cylinder is the coarser reading, used when the volume is not the result. The classes sit under ISO laboratory glassware. The chain back to the unit of volume is the work of the BIPM and of NIST.
