Description

Nalgene™ polypropylene graduated cylinders with a 250 ml nominal capacity are intended for reliable liquid measurement and mixing in laboratory settings. Each round cylinder is made from polypropylene (PP) and features a large spout, molded-in graduations and a large blue hexagonal stand for secure positioning. Graduations run from 16 ml to 250 ml in 2 ml steps, with a tolerance of ±2 ml under accuracy class B. Calibration covers both volume containment and delivery, and the cylinders are autoclavable to a maximum temperature of 121 °C. Conformity includes CFR 21 Part 177.1520, ASTM Class B E 1272 and all requirements of ISO 6706. Reported dimensions are an outer diameter of 1,92 in, an inner diameter of 1,36 in and a height of 13,9 in. Supplied as Thermo Scientific – Laboratory Plastics Nalgene ware, these Class B measuring cylinders offer a robust plastic alternative for routine volumetric procedures in research, education and quality laboratories. Packaging is one piece per pack and twelve pieces per case, supporting straightforward replenishment of shared lab stocks for day-to-day measuring tasks.

Questions about Nalgene™ Polypropylene Graduated Cylinders

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Polypropylene Graduated Cylinders is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Measuring cylinders, inside Volumetric glassware, in Labware.

A measuring cylinder is the tall graduated vessel for a volume that does not need volumetric-flask accuracy. Class A and class B differ in tolerance. Reading the bottom of the meniscus, at eye level, is part of using it.

Volumetric glassware is glass that has been calibrated to contain or to deliver one stated volume at a reference temperature. That calibration is the whole point. Class A and class AS have a tighter tolerance than class B. A volumetric flask contains. A pipette and a burette deliver. A measuring cylinder is the coarser reading, used when the volume is not the result. The classes sit under ISO laboratory glassware. The chain back to the unit of volume is the work of the BIPM and of NIST.
