Description

Nalgene™ square HDPE bottles with closure are space-saving laboratory containers designed for transporting, storing or sampling liquids and dry materials. Each bottle holds a nominal volume of 125 ml (4 oz) and is moulded from natural translucent high-density polyethylene (HDPE) in a rectangular wide-mouth format that maximises shelf and refrigerator density. The wide mouth provides a 21 mm inner neck diameter and is fitted with a 28 mm natural polypropylene screw closure without liner. Height is approximately 4 in, supporting convenient handling while the square footprint reduces wasted storage space. These bottles from manufacturer Thermo Scientific comply with USP Class VI and FDA 21 CFR requirements and carry an ACT label. They exhibit excellent chemical resistance to most acids, bases and alcohols, making them suitable for a broad range of laboratory reagents and samples. Offered for laboratory use where durable, leak-resistant HDPE packaging with a secure screw closure is required for both liquid and solid contents.

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Rectangular HDPE Bottles with Closure is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
