Description

Nalgene™ Analytical Filter Funnels are sterile disposable filter funnels intended for microbiological quality-control procedures and the analysis of water, food and beverage samples, raw materials and finished products. Each unit combines a 100 mL working volume with a 47 mm cellulose nitrate (CN/MCE) membrane of 0,2 µm pore size and a white grid, enabling clear colony visualisation and reliable particulate retention. The funnels meet the requirements of US APHA Standard Methods and US EPA water-quality testing protocols as well as ISO 7704 certification. Designed for use with filter manifolds and filter flasks, they offer an economical single-use format that reduces cross-contamination risk in routine laboratory workflows. Supplied as a case of 50 pieces from manufacturer Thermo Scientific, these analytical filter funnels support consistent performance in environmental, food-safety and industrial quality-control laboratories. The combination of sterile presentation, defined 0,2 µm membrane porosity and convenient 100 mL capacity makes them suitable for standardised filtration and microbial enumeration tasks across regulated testing environments.

Nalgene™ Single Use Analytical Filter Funnels is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Büchner & filter funnels, inside Funnels, in Labware.

A Büchner funnel is a perforated porcelain or plastic plate used with a rubber cone and vacuum to pull liquid through a filter paper. A filter funnel is the glass cone that holds a folded paper under gravity. The plate diameter decides the paper size.

A funnel guides a liquid or a powder into a narrower mouth. A filter funnel holds a paper. A Büchner funnel is the flat perforated plate used with vacuum. A separating funnel has a stopcock so two liquid layers can be run off one at a time. A dropping funnel adds a reagent slowly into a reaction. The bore and the stopcock are the parts that matter.
