Description

Nalgene™ large square PPCO wide-mouth bottle with closure is an autoclavable laboratory container designed for storing and sterilising contaminated slides and other small lab items. With a capacity of 4 l (1 gallon), this square wide-mouth bottle is made from polypropylene copolymer (PPCO) and appears natural translucent. It measures 142 mm in diameter and 282 mm in height, while the wide neck offers an inner diameter of 89 mm for easy filling, emptying and cleaning. A white polypropylene screw closure sized 100 mm is included. These large square wide-mouth bottles from manufacturer Thermo Scientific help organise bench and storage space efficiently and meet USP Class VI together with FDA 21 CFR requirements. Supplied as a case of 6 (one bottle per pack), the design has no graduations and does not support dispensing through the closure. The durable PPCO construction withstands repeated autoclaving, making the bottle well suited to sterilisation workflows and reliable containment of small laboratory parts and samples in research environments.

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Square Wide-Mouth Large PPCO Bottle with Closure: is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
