Description

Narrow-mouth bottle, PP, round, natural, without closure, GL 14, 30 ml is a compact laboratory vessel moulded from polypropylene in a natural colour. The round body combines a narrow neck with a GL 14 thread and is supplied without a closure, so matching screw caps can be selected to suit the intended seal. With a nominal volume of 0,03 l (30 ml), an outer diameter of 35 mm, a height of 66 mm and an inner opening diameter of 9 mm, the bottle offers a small footprint for bench storage, sample aliquots and organised chemical handling. The polypropylene construction from manufacturer lab-o-plastix is autoclavable up to a maximum of 121 °C; before autoclaving, any closure should be unscrewed and placed on the bottle. Natural PP allows visual fill-level checks while remaining lightweight for routine laboratory logistics. Typical uses include reagent aliquoting, short-term liquid containment and general sample organisation wherever a threaded narrow-mouth plastic bottle in the 30 ml class is required. The GL 14 neck standardises closure compatibility across common laboratory screw-cap systems.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
