Owl™ Complete System for Vertical Dual Gel Electrophoresis with Caster is a dual-gel vertical electrophoresis platform for running one or two gels in the same apparatus. Gel dimensions are 10 cm width by 8 to 10 cm length, with a buffer volume of 300 ml. The complete system includes the caster and supports a straightforward six-step workflow: secure glass cassettes, introduce agarose, insert the specially designed blocker, pour polyacrylamide solution into the cassettes, load samples, and run the gel. Proven acrylic construction delivers a durable, stable unit. A central cooling core provides uniform cooling across the entire gel area for excellent resolution and sharp banding; cooling is achieved by circulating liquid through the core with an external circulating thermostat or cold tap water. The simple clamping mechanism eases loading of glass cassettes and prefabricated gels from most manufacturers. Recommended applications include SDS electrophoresis, the second dimension of two-dimensional (2-D) electrophoresis, agarose electrophoresis, and native electrophoresis.
