Description

Pasteur pipettes made of borosilicate glass 5.1, 230 mm length, constitute a premium single-use tool for precise liquid transfer in the laboratory. Owing to the superior characteristics of borosilicate glass 5.1, these pipettes are more robust than conventional soda-lime glass versions and withstand rapid temperature fluctuations as well as chemical exposure. The nearly inert nature of the glass minimises unwanted sample interactions and thereby lowers contamination risk. Equipped with a finely drawn tip, each pipette holds a fill volume of approximately 2 ml. They are designed for disposable use in microbiological and serological work, for pipetting liquids, dropwise dispensing of reagents and for distributing heated liquid portions. Manufactured by Duran/DWK Life Sciences and delivered in units of 1000 pieces, the pipettes provide dependable chemical resistance to both acidic and alkaline solutions. A natural rubber suction bulb may be purchased separately. The extended length supports convenient handling in a variety of routine laboratory procedures.

Questions about Pasteur Pipettes, made from Borosilikat glass 5.1

What is this article?

Pasteur Pipettes, made from Borosilikat glass 5.1 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Pasteur pipettes, inside Pipettes & pipette tips, in Lab consumables.

A Pasteur pipette is an uncalibrated glass or plastic transfer pipette. It moves a drop. It does not measure. Glass ones are pulled to a tip. Plastic ones are a single piece. Neither belongs in a result that needs a stated volume.

A pipette moves a measured volume. A volumetric pipette delivers one line. A graduated pipette delivers along a scale. A Pasteur pipette is an uncalibrated transfer. A piston pipette uses a tip, and the tip has to seal on that pipette. A filter tip adds a barrier so aerosol from the sample does not reach the piston. Serological pipettes are the long graduated tubes used with a controller. The volume and the fit are the specification. Piston pipettes are treated under ISO laboratory apparatus. In-vitro work also meets ISO in vitro diagnostic systems.
