Description

PES membrane with a 30.000 MWCO rating and 47 mm diameter is a polyethersulfone (PES) ultrafiltration disc for laboratory macromolecule work. Offered in packs of 10 pieces, the disc is compatible with traditional and legacy stirred cells and is recommended for custom applications. Flexible options suit ultrafiltration (UF) and diafiltration (DF) of most macromolecules. Popular disc applications include concentration and protein removal (UF), buffer exchange and desalting (DF), and electroultrafiltration (EUF). These membranes from manufacturer Sartorius are listed under the Hydrosart® registered trademark and support concentration, desalting, and related separation tasks. Pack net weight and gross weight are each 0,019 kg. Non-sterile 47 mm PES discs match smaller stirred-cell formats and allow MWCO to be chosen according to the target macromolecule. A 30.000 cut-off helps retain larger proteins or polymers while salts and lower-molecular-weight solutes pass during UF or DF, giving a compact filtration area for routine laboratory volumes.

This article is part of Ultrafiltration & concentrators, in Filtration.

Questions about Ultrafilter, 30kDa PES, 47mm, 10pc

What is this article?

Ultrafilter, 30kDa PES, 47mm, 10pc is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Sartorius for laboratory use. It sits in Ultrafiltration & concentrators, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

An ultrafiltration device holds back macromolecules above a stated molecular-weight cutoff and passes salts and water. It concentrates a protein or exchanges its buffer. The cutoff, the volume and whether it is a centrifugal device or a stirred cell are the specification. A 0.2 µm syringe filter does not do this.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
