Description
PH850-SS portable pH meter is a compact handheld instrument designed for direct pH measurement of food samples such as meat, cheese, dairy products and fruit, as well as other semi-solids including soil. It also supports ORP (optional electrode) and temperature. The included LabSen® 753 pH electrode features a pointed, robust glass membrane and solid polymer electrolyte so it can penetrate food matrices without damage or diaphragm clogging; a food-grade titanium alloy sheath adds mechanical strength and is easy to clean. An integrated temperature sensor enables automatic temperature compensation (ATC). The meter itself is protected by a silicone sleeve and meets IP57 for water and dust resistance, making it suitable for field use in harsh environments. Measuring range is 0,00 to 14,00 pH with 0,1/0,01 resolution and ±0,01 accuracy, plus 1- to 3-point automatic calibration. A clear display and straightforward controls support rapid routine checks. This complete kit from manufacturer APERA Instruments contains the PH850 meter, LabSen® 753 electrode, three 50 ml calibration solutions (pH 4,00 / 7,00 / 10,01), screwdriver, operating manual and carrying case. Instrument dimensions are 88×170×33 mm at 313 g (1,3 kg with case).

Questions about PH850-SS Portable pH Meter Kit for Food and Semi-solid Sample
What is this article?
PH850-SS Portable pH Meter Kit for Food and Semi-solid Sample is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH meter reads the electrode and displays pH, after calibration with at least two buffers. A meter that cannot be calibrated is a voltmeter. Resolution to 0.001 is not the same as accuracy. Portable and benchtop meters differ in the electrodes they accept and in the data they store.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
