Description

Laboratory stem thermometer similar to DIN in enclosed-scale form measures from 0 to +100 °C with a 0,1 °C scale division, enabling accurate temperature determination in laboratory and process settings. It incorporates a special internal capillary coating together with a non-wetting blue special filling for clear, reliable readings. The upper section is 520×11 mm and the lower stem 200×7–8 mm, giving an immersion depth of 180 mm for deeper vessels or baths. A Richter closure without button finishes the stem. Delivered as one piece and accompanied by a works test certificate with one test point, the thermometer (Amarell) supports quality-control, calibration checks and everyday laboratory monitoring where longer immersion and fine resolution are needed. The enclosed scale protects the graduation, while the blue filling improves visibility under standard laboratory lighting. Origin is Germany (Bavaria).

This article is part of Laboratory glass thermometers, in Temperature measurement.

What is this article?

Precision thermometer with straight stem, similar DIN, enclosed scale, is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Amarell for laboratory use. It sits in Laboratory glass thermometers, inside Temperature measurement, in Lab instruments.

A liquid-in-glass thermometer is a calibrated column, often with a stated immersion depth, total or partial. The range and the division decide the reading. A partial-immersion thermometer read at the wrong depth is wrong by design.

A thermometer reports a temperature. A liquid-in-glass thermometer is a calibrated column. A digital thermometer is a sensor and a display, and the sensor, not the display, is what is calibrated. An infrared thermometer reads a surface and depends on emissivity. A data logger stores the reading over time. Without a stated uncertainty and a calibration point, the number is only an indication. The scale is maintained by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET. Accreditation is BELAC.
