Description

PTFE tubing with an inner diameter of 6 mm and an outer diameter of 8 mm provides a robust polymer conduit for laboratory and industrial fluid systems. Produced from polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), it offers extreme resistance to almost all chemicals, the lowest friction coefficient of all polymers, and excellent non-stick residual-emptying characteristics. The hose is odourless, does not burn or smoke, and is ageing- and UV-resistant; it is not resistant to fluorine compounds or strong reducing agents. A wall thickness of 1 mm supports a maximum operating pressure of 40 bar while maintaining good transparency for visual inspection and strong abrasion resistance for long service life. Delivered in a 50 m length from manufacturer Bürkle, the tubing is taste- and odour-neutral. It is widely used in general liquid handling, chemical processing, laboratory and analytical applications, water treatment, electrical insulation, cooling and cryogenics, high-pressure transport, and food, beverage and nutritional processing environments that demand chemical inertness and reliable residual emptying.

This article is part of PVC, PTFE & other tubing, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about PTFE hose, Ø 6x8 mm, pressure max. 40 bar, 50 m

What is this article?

PTFE hose, Ø 6x8 mm, pressure max. 40 bar, 50 m is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bürkle for laboratory use. It sits in PVC, PTFE & other tubing, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

PVC is the flexible everyday tube for water and mild aqueous liquids. PTFE is the stiff, almost inert tube for solvents. Other polymers sit between them. The bore, the wall and the chemical resistance are the specification, and the tube is cut to length.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
