Description

PTFE two-way valve, Ø 6,8 mm, NW 3 mm, is a compact solid PTFE laboratory stopcock equipped with hose nozzles for straightforward tubing attachment. The solid PTFE construction provides excellent chemical resistance, making the valve suitable for a wide spectrum of aggressive reagents and solvents used in laboratory and technical applications. Thanks to the outstanding sliding characteristics of PTFE, the valve operates with absolute ease and remains free-moving even after repeated use. Blue polypropylene (PP) handles ensure comfortable actuation and quick visual identification on the bench or in apparatus setups. This valve from manufacturer Bürkle withstands pressures up to a maximum of 1 bar and is vacuum-compatible down to 5 mmHg, covering both over-pressure and vacuum service. Autoclavable design allows reliable steam sterilisation between runs. Delivered as a single piece with 6,8 mm outer diameter and 3 mm nominal width, the two-way configuration is well suited to simple on/off control or isolation of flexible hose lines. It serves chemical handling, sampling circuits and general fluid routing where an inert, smooth-running PTFE valve of small bore is required.

This article is part of Stopcocks & valves, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

What is this article?

PTFE-valve, two-way, Ø 6,8 mm, NW 3mm, autoklav. is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bürkle for laboratory use. It sits in Stopcocks & valves, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A stopcock opens and closes a line, or directs it between ports. Glass stopcocks have a ground plug that needs grease or a PTFE key. The bore decides the flow. A two-way and a three-way key are different parts.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
