Description

Food pH electrode FC200B is a PVDF pH electrode with open junction designed for milk, yoghurt, dairy products and semi-solid foods. The conical tip (6 mm × 10 mm) supports reliable contact in viscous or particulate matrices typical of food analysis. It uses a single Ag/AgCl reference with Viscolene electrolyte and covers the pH range 0 to 12. Recommended operating temperature is 0 to 50 °C, with a maximum pressure of 0,1 bar. The sensor has no built-in temperature sensor and no amplifier. Connection is via a coaxial cable of 1 m length ending in a BNC connector; related variants in the same electrode family offer DIN 2-pin or screw-cap terminations. This configuration from manufacturer Hanna Instruments suits routine pH control and quality checks on dairy lines and food laboratories where an open diaphragm and food-compatible PVDF body are preferred. Supplied as a single electrode unit for direct use with compatible BNC pH meters.

Questions about PVDF Body Foodcare pH Electrode for Dairy Products and Semi-Solid Foods

What is this article?

PVDF Body Foodcare pH Electrode for Dairy Products and Semi-Solid Foods is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
