Description

VitraPOR® quartz glass filter plate is a biplanar disc made from amorphous quartz glass with a diameter of 100 mm, porosity grade 4 and a thickness of 7,0 mm ± 0,2 mm. It belongs to the Series Q range, which features surfaces ground on both sides to provide a biplanar finish. This laboratory filter plate from manufacturer ROBU - Stereon is supplied as a single piece for filtration setups that require quartz glass media in the stated porosity class. The amorphous quartz glass construction, defined porosity 4 grade and controlled thickness tolerance characterise the component for laboratory use. The 100 mm diameter and biplanar ground surfaces support mounting in filter holders, assemblies and related apparatus. Series Q plates are specified where a double-sided ground surface is preferred at the filter interface. This VitraPOR® item offers a ready-to-use quartz glass filter plate matching the stated geometry, porosity and dimensional tolerance for routine laboratory filtration work with sintered glass media.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

What is this article?

Quartz Glass Filter Disc, bi-plane, 90 mm, Por. 4 Thickness 7.0 mm ± 0.2 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
