Description
RCT 5 digital S003 is a magnetic stirrer with heating fitted with a Swiss plug and delivering 850 W for challenging stirring applications up to 20 l. Through its multifunction menu, direction of rotation, timer operation and sequence programming can be set individually so that the entire stirring process runs reliably without constant supervision. The rectangular white coated ceramic plate from manufacturer IKA is less prone to scratching than conventional magnetic-stirrer surfaces. A housing of chemical-resistant hardened glass raises user safety, and a display warning alerts operators to a hot surface to help avoid burns. The safety circuit is adjustable up to 370 °C. Automatic deactivation of the tempering function is provided when the external temperature sensor is not immersed in the medium; this behaviour is selectable and the timeout period is adjustable (Error 5). Combining programmable control, a durable ceramic work surface and clear safety messaging, the unit supports precise heating and mixing routines in chemical and life-science laboratories that require Swiss mains connection.
This article is part of Magnetic stirrers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

Questions about RCT 5 digital S003, Magnetic stirrer with heating with Swiss plug
What is this article?
RCT 5 digital S003, Magnetic stirrer with heating with Swiss plug is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Magnetic stirrers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.
A magnetic stirrer is the motor and the plate under the flask. Many also heat. The stirring capacity is the litres of a water-like liquid it can turn, and a viscous liquid defeats a rating that was measured on water.
Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
Which category should I open next?
