Description

Rotavisc Io-vi HELI is a complete rotational viscosimeter system for laboratory viscosity measurement across a working range of 15 to 6.000.000 mPa·s. The package includes the standard spindle set SP1 to SP4, a T-spindle set, a protective bracket, a temperature sensor and a motorised HELISTAND stand, so the instrument is ready for setup on a range of sample types. This configuration supports routine and development work where rotational viscosity data are needed over a wide span from low-viscosity fluids to highly viscous materials. Supplied by manufacturer IKA as a complete unit, the system combines the measuring drive with matching spindles and the HELISTAND for controlled immersion and positioning during measurement. The temperature sensor allows sample temperature to be taken into account alongside viscosity readings. Laboratories in quality control, formulation and materials characterisation can use the Io-vi HELI package when a broad measuring window and a full accessory set are required in one delivery. The complete scope reduces the need for separate stand and spindle purchases and streamlines installation on the bench for day-to-day viscosimetry tasks.

This article is part of Viscometers, in Density & viscosity measurement.

Questions about Rotational viscosim. Rotavisc Io-vi HELI, Complete, 15 to 6,000,000 mPa-s

What is this article?

Rotational viscosim. Rotavisc Io-vi HELI, Complete, 15 to 6,000,000 mPa-s is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Viscometers, inside Density & viscosity measurement, in Lab instruments.

A capillary viscometer times the flow of a liquid through a tube. A rotational viscometer twists a spindle in the liquid. Both need a stated temperature. Kinematic and dynamic viscosity are different numbers. The capillary size has to put the flow time in the range the method allows.

Density is mass divided by volume. A hydrometer floats at a depth that depends on the density of the liquid. A pycnometer is a vessel of known volume that is weighed full. Viscosity is the resistance to flow. A capillary viscometer times how long a volume takes to fall through a tube. Both measurements need a stated temperature, because liquids change density and viscosity as they warm. The units trace to the BIPM and to NIST.
