Description
Rotor A-2-DWP-AT is a packaged swing-bucket rotor for plate centrifugation on Centrifuge 5810 and 5810 R instruments. The set includes two plate buckets, two aerosol-tight caps and two removal aids for secure handling of multiwell workflows. It is intended only for use in Centrifuge 5810/5810 R; older instruments may need a software upgrade before this rotor can be operated. Maximum performance is 3486 × g (4500 rpm). Capacity covers up to 2 × 4 microtiter plates (MTP), 2 × 1 deepwell plates (DWP), 2 × 1 filter-plate kits or 2 × 2 cell-culture plates. Maximum loading height is 67 mm with caps in place and 89 mm without caps. Aerosol-tight caps support safe centrifugation of hazardous samples; aerosol tightness was tested by Public Health England, Porton Down (United Kingdom). Rotor and buckets are autoclavable at 121 °C for 20 minutes. This configuration from manufacturer Eppendorf suits high-throughput plate work where containment and autoclave readiness matter. Net weight is 8,100 kg.
This article is part of Rotors, in Centrifuges.

Questions about ROTOR A-2-DWP-AT AEROSOLTIGHT (5810/R)
What is this article?
ROTOR A-2-DWP-AT AEROSOLTIGHT (5810/R) is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Eppendorf for laboratory use. It sits in Rotors, inside Centrifuges, in Lab instruments.
A centrifuge rotor is the rotating part that holds the tubes, and it is rated for a maximum speed and a maximum load. A swing-out rotor and a fixed-angle rotor pellet differently. A rotor from another centrifuge does not belong on this drive, even when it seems to fit.
A centrifuge separates by density. The rotor spins the sample and the force is reported as a multiple of gravity, not as a raw speed, because the same revolutions per minute are a different force at a different radius. A microcentrifuge takes small tubes. A benchtop or floor model takes larger rotors. The tube, the adapter and the rotor have to be the combination the manufacturer rated. An unbalanced load is how centrifuges fail. Measurement of the related quantities sits with the BIPM.
