Description
Savant™ SpeedVac™ SPD140DDA P2 is a medium-capacity modular vacuum concentrator system kit for combinatorial chemistry applications involving aggressive organic solvents. The acid-resistant SpeedVac platform handles a broad solvent range and is suited to DMSO, DMF and toluene workflows, with radiant chamber lamps, heated lid for high-boiling solvents, independent heat and run timers, audible alarm, built-in vacuum gauge and display, enhanced vapor throughput and adjustable vacuum to limit bumping and optimise drying. This P2 integrated kit from manufacturer Thermo Scientific comprises the acid-resistant concentrator, −50 °C universal vacuum source, RH24-15 rotor for 24 × 1-dram vials (15 × 45 mm, 4 ml), chemical trap, tubing and fitting kit, disposable cartridge, glass condensation flask, vacuum-pump lubricating oil and 1 L CryoCool™ heat transfer fluid. Recommended applications include solid-phase extractions, drying of lipid extracts, flash-chromatography fractions, solid-phase synthesis cleavage solutions, compound management and evaporation of dissolution solvents. Additional rotors support further tube and vial formats. Electrical requirements are 230 V / 50 Hz; the system is UL listed and CE marked. Supplied as 1 pc.
This article is part of Ultrafiltration & concentrators, in Filtration.

What is this article?
Savant™ SpeedVac™ Medium Capacity Vacuum Concentrators for is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Equipment LED for laboratory use. It sits in Ultrafiltration & concentrators, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.
An ultrafiltration device holds back macromolecules above a stated molecular-weight cutoff and passes salts and water. It concentrates a protein or exchanges its buffer. The cutoff, the volume and whether it is a centrifugal device or a stirred cell are the specification. A 0.2 µm syringe filter does not do this.
Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
