Description

Sodium hydroxide solution ROTI®Star 4 mol/l - 4 N is a volumetric sodium hydroxide solution with empirical formula NaOH, CAS number 1310-73-2 and a molar mass of 40,01 g/mol. The 4 mol/l (4 N) volumetric solution is supplied in a 500 ml plastic bottle for analytical laboratory use. Density is 1,15 g/cm³ and the boiling point is above 100 °C. It is used in volumetric procedures that specify a 4 mol/l or 4 N sodium hydroxide titrant, including acid-base titrations and related quantitative work. The 500 ml plastic pack is intended for handling at the titration bench and in general laboratory workflows. This ROTI®Star volumetric solution comes from manufacturer Carl ROTH, with EG number 215-185-5 and UN number 1824. Concentration, density and molar mass are given so the reagent can be chosen against analytical methods that require sodium hydroxide at 4 mol/l. As an aqueous volumetric alkali, the product offers a defined 4 N concentration for routine wet-chemical analysis in analytical laboratories.

Questions about Sodium hydroxide solution, ROTI®Star 4 mol/l - 4 N, 500 ml, plastic

What is this article?

Sodium hydroxide solution, ROTI®Star 4 mol/l - 4 N, 500 ml, plastic is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Carl Roth for laboratory use. It sits in ICP, AAS & ion standards, inside Analytical standards & reference materials, in Lab chemicals.

An ICP, AAS or ion standard is a solution of a stated element or ion at a stated concentration, with an uncertainty. It is the calibration point of a spectrometer or an electrode. The matrix, often dilute acid, has to match the method. A standard past its expiry is not that concentration.

A reference material is the article against which another result is compared. Its value is stated, and the uncertainty of that value is part of the product. An ICP or ion standard is a solution of known concentration. A volumetric standard is for titration. A chromatography standard is the peak you match. The grade names, including pharmacopoeia and ASTM, say which impurities were limited. Identity is checked on PubChem. Names follow IUPAC. Medicinal grades follow the European Pharmacopoeia and USP.
