Description

Sterile Petri dishes 58,8 mm are disposable culture vessels made from pure crystalline polystyrene conforming to USP Class VI. Manufactured in a class 100.000 cleanroom, they combine a treated surface with a smooth, groove-free base that maximises the growth area available for cell, tissue and microbial culture. Sterilisation is performed by beta irradiation, and the dishes are tested to be free from DNase, RNase and pyrogens. Lids are supplied with every dish. These Petri dishes from manufacturer Labbox are packed in resealable bags of ten, giving a total pack of 10 × 60 pieces (600 dishes). The transparent polystyrene construction supports clear observation of colonies and monolayers, while the 58,8 mm diameter suits everyday plating, incubation and media work in research, diagnostics and training laboratories. A sterilisation certificate can be downloaded free of charge. Uniform dimensions and an unobstructed floor help maintain reproducible culture conditions from bag to bag.

What is this article?

Sterile treated culture dishes, 58,8 mm, 10 x 60 pcs is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Labbox for laboratory use. It sits in Petri dishes, inside Culture media & microbiology, in Microbiology lab supplies.

A Petri dish is the shallow lidded plate agar is poured into, or a sample is placed in. Diameter and whether it is vented, and whether it arrives sterile and empty or already filled, are the choices. A 90 mm dish is the ordinary one. Slippable lids and vented lids differ in how they dry a plate.

A culture medium is the food and the solid or liquid home of a microorganism. Dehydrated media are powders the laboratory dissolves and sterilises. Ready-to-use plates and tubes are already that. A Petri dish is the plate. Selective media let one kind of organism grow and hold another back. The formulation and the supplements, not the colour of the agar, are the specification. Reference strains are at ATCC. Methods are on PubMed. Biosafety practice is the WHO laboratory biosafety topic.
