Description

Tablet camera KERN ODC 241 is a digital microscopy solution that combines a large Android tablet with an integrated 5 MP camera for observation and digital documentation of specimens. As a 2-in-1 system it serves as a universal option for all trinocular microscopes fitted with a C-mount adapter. The unit from manufacturer Kern is designed for simple, direct specimen viewing on the screen and is well suited for students in training or for demonstration purposes in the laboratory. Besides live image transfer to the Android tablet, the 5 MP camera supports capture of images and videos for documentation. Simple measurements such as distance, area and angle measurements, as well as a manual counting function, are available. Automatic white balance and automatic contrast compensation can be applied quickly for efficient work. Integrated interfaces enable data storage on USB stick or SD card, connection of a USB mouse, live image output to an external screen via HDMI, and transfer of stored data to external receivers via WLAN. Scope of delivery includes the tablet camera with preinstalled software and the power supply. The system is not combinable with microscopes OZM-5 and OLM 170. Net weight is 0,80 kg.

Questions about Tablet Camera KERN ODC 241

What is this article?

Tablet Camera KERN ODC 241 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Kern for laboratory use. It sits in Microscope objectives, eyepieces & optics, inside Microscopy & histology, in Lab instruments.

An objective makes the resolution. Magnification and numerical aperture are the two numbers, and the tube length or the infinity correction has to match the microscope. An eyepiece mostly enlarges the image the objective already resolved. A mismatched objective does not become sharper by zooming.

A light microscope forms an image with glass lenses and transmitted or reflected light. A stereo microscope is the lower-magnification instrument for dissecting and for looking at a surface. Fluorescence needs a light source and filters matched to the dye. Histology is the preparation that makes a tissue readable: fixation, a cassette, a section, a stain. The objective's magnification and numerical aperture decide the resolution. The slide and the cover glass decide whether the section sits in the focal plane. Stains and dyes as substances are identified on PubChem. Papers on the methods are on PubMed.
