Description
Temperature sensor for U-value determination enables efficient thermal assessment of building components when used with compatible instruments such as the testo 635. The U-value (formerly k-value) is the key parameter for evaluating heat transfer through walls and other structural elements. Three temperature inputs are required: outdoor air temperature, interior wall surface temperature and indoor air temperature. This patented U-value probe captures surface and room-air temperatures with a single unit: three leads are fixed to the inner wall with modelling clay for surface measurement, while an integrated sensor at the probe connector records air temperature. Outdoor temperature can be acquired separately via wireless probes positioned outside with the window closed, transmitting data to the indoor meter. Manufacturer Testo designed the system so that the connected probes feed all three values to the instrument, which then calculates and displays the U-value directly. Supplied as one piece with a net weight of 0,14 kg, the sensor supports building diagnostics, energy audits and laboratory investigations of thermal performance without complex multi-probe setups.

Questions about Temperature probe to determine U-value, triple sensor system
What is this article?
Temperature probe to determine U-value, triple sensor system is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Testo for laboratory use. It sits in Temperature probes & sensors, inside Temperature measurement, in Lab instruments.
A temperature probe is the sensor, Pt100, thermocouple or thermistor, that a meter or a logger reads. The probe, not the display, is what is calibrated. The sheath material and the response time matter in a liquid versus a block.
A thermometer reports a temperature. A liquid-in-glass thermometer is a calibrated column. A digital thermometer is a sensor and a display, and the sensor, not the display, is what is calibrated. An infrared thermometer reads a surface and depends on emissivity. A data logger stores the reading over time. Without a stated uncertainty and a calibration point, the number is only an indication. The scale is maintained by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET. Accreditation is BELAC.
Which category should I open next?
