Description

Three-necked round-bottom flask, DURAN®, is a multi-neck laboratory vessel for reaction, distillation and synthesis work that requires several simultaneous ground-joint connections. This 1000 ml flask provides a centre neck NS 29/32 together with two side necks NS 29/32, so condensers, dropping funnels, thermometers, gas inlets or stirrer guides can be fitted in a single assembly. The round-bottom form supports uniform heating and efficient mixing when the flask is used with standard heating mantles, oil baths or other laboratory heat sources and appropriate clamps. Made from DURAN® glass and offered by manufacturer Lenz, the piece belongs to the established family of round flasks with ground glass joints used throughout research, process development and teaching laboratories. It is supplied as one piece with a net weight of 0,620 kg and integrates directly into conventional NS 29/32 glassware trains. The three-neck layout is particularly practical when controlled reagent addition, temperature monitoring and vapour take-off must run in parallel without repeated reconfiguration of the apparatus.

Questions about Three-necked round-bottom flask, DURAN®, 1000 ml, side necks 29/32, centre 29/32

What is this article?

Three-necked round-bottom flask, DURAN®, 1000 ml, side necks 29/32, centre 29/32 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Lenz for laboratory use. It sits in Round-bottom flasks, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.

A round-bottom flask is the heating flask of a distillation or a reflux. The curved wall takes the heat, and the ground neck connects to a still head or a condenser. The joint size, not only the volume, has to match the rest of the set.

A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
