Description

Petrographic Microscope Vision+ with monocular head is designed for geology, mineralogy, petrography and the examination of anisotropic materials. The monocular head is inclined at 45°, 360° rotatable and fitted with a WF10X/18 mm eyepiece. A quadruple nosepiece accepts achromatic DIN 45 mm objectives 4X, 10X, 40X and 100X. Specimens are placed on a rotatable circular stage of Ø 160 mm graduated in 1° increments, with a Vernier scale resolving to 6′. Polarisation optics include a rotatable analyser (0–90°), optical compensators (¼ λ and first-order red plate) and a sliding Bertrand lens for conoscopic interference-figure analysis. Coaxial micrometric and macrometric focusing provides 0,01 mm accuracy. An Abbe condenser N.A. 1,25 with iris diaphragm works with an adjustable rotatable polariser and 1 W LED illumination with intensity control. The instrument from manufacturer Labbox is intended for birefringent minerals and thin sections and is backed by a two-year warranty. Gross weight is approximately 9,312 kg.

Questions about Vision+ petrographic microscope, monocular head

What is this article?

Vision+ petrographic microscope, monocular head is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Labbox for laboratory use. It sits in Microscope objectives, eyepieces & optics, inside Microscopy & histology, in Lab instruments.

An objective makes the resolution. Magnification and numerical aperture are the two numbers, and the tube length or the infinity correction has to match the microscope. An eyepiece mostly enlarges the image the objective already resolved. A mismatched objective does not become sharper by zooming.

A light microscope forms an image with glass lenses and transmitted or reflected light. A stereo microscope is the lower-magnification instrument for dissecting and for looking at a surface. Fluorescence needs a light source and filters matched to the dye. Histology is the preparation that makes a tissue readable: fixation, a cassette, a section, a stain. The objective's magnification and numerical aperture decide the resolution. The slide and the cover glass decide whether the section sits in the focal plane. Stains and dyes as substances are identified on PubChem. Papers on the methods are on PubMed.
