Description

Vivaflow 50 R, 100.000 MWCO Hydrosart is a ready-to-use, reusable laboratory crossflow cassette intended for concentration of sample volumes up to one litre. For process volumes in the 100–1000 ml range, each unit offers an active membrane filter area of 50 cm². Accessories for operation with a laboratory pump using a size 16 pump head are included, enabling direct connection at the bench. Two cassettes may be run in parallel when a shorter concentration time is desired. This Hydrosart-based crossflow cassette from manufacturer Sartorius provides a practical tangential-flow option for routine laboratory concentration work. The reusable design allows the same unit to be employed for repeated runs without immediate membrane replacement. Delivered as 1 pc with a net weight of 0,469 kg, the cassette fits standard laboratory pump setups with minimal additional hardware. It is supplied non-sterile and is suited to general laboratory applications that require controlled crossflow concentration of larger macromolecular fractions at 100.000 MWCO.

This article is part of Ultrafiltration & concentrators, in Filtration.

Questions about Vivaflow 50R, 100kDa HY, 1pc

What is this article?

Vivaflow 50R, 100kDa HY, 1pc is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Sartorius for laboratory use. It sits in Ultrafiltration & concentrators, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

An ultrafiltration device holds back macromolecules above a stated molecular-weight cutoff and passes salts and water. It concentrates a protein or exchanges its buffer. The cutoff, the volume and whether it is a centrifugal device or a stirred cell are the specification. A 0.2 µm syringe filter does not do this.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
