Description
Vivaspin 20, 1.000.000 MWCO PES centrifugal concentrators are original crossflow spin filters engineered for fast ultrafiltration and diafiltration in the laboratory. Each unit uses a polyethersulfone (PES) membrane with a 1.000.000 molecular weight cut-off and is intended for feed volumes from 0,1 to 98 mL, enabling concentration factors up to 400× with a single device. The vertical crossflow geometry supports efficient sample processing for concentration, buffer exchange and polishing workflows. Popular applications include ultrafiltration, diafiltration and polishing of macromolecular samples. This pack contains 12 pieces and is offered by manufacturer Sartorius as part of the established Vivaspin 20 range. With a net weight of 0,400 kg, the pack is practical for routine bench use where high-MWCO PES performance is required. Laboratories can apply these spin filters when rapid UF/DF steps are needed without switching devices mid-protocol, helping streamline sample preparation from small exploratory volumes through to larger process-development aliquots.
This article is part of Ultrafiltration & concentrators, in Filtration.

Questions about Vivaspin 20, 1000kDa PES, 12pc
What is this article?
Vivaspin 20, 1000kDa PES, 12pc is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Sartorius for laboratory use. It sits in Ultrafiltration & concentrators, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.
An ultrafiltration device holds back macromolecules above a stated molecular-weight cutoff and passes salts and water. It concentrates a protein or exchanges its buffer. The cutoff, the volume and whether it is a centrifugal device or a stirred cell are the specification. A 0.2 µm syringe filter does not do this.
Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
