Description

Portable meter for pH/Redox/°C incl. probe HI12973 is a compact waterproof handheld instrument for pH, redox (ORP) and temperature measurement. The supplied HI12973 titanium-body electrode incorporates an integrated amplifier that protects against external influences and supports high measuring accuracy, while the built-in temperature sensor delivers automatic temperature-compensated readings from -5 to 105 °C. Belonging to the updated HI99xxxx series from manufacturer Hanna Instruments, the meter pairs with application-specific electrodes via a Quick-DIN connector that renders the complete system water- and dust-tight. Two-key operation allows rapid adjustment of settings, measuring range and calibration points. A multilevel LCD presents key data clearly, the IP67-compliant housing safeguards performance in harsh surroundings, and electrode condition is indicated on screen. Delivery includes the HI12973 Quick-DIN probe with 1 m cable, starter calibration solutions, cleaning solution, batteries, instruction manual and quality certificate in a sturdy carrying case. Measuring ranges: pH -2,00 to 16,00 (resolution 0,01; accuracy ±0,02), redox ±1999 mV, temperature -5,0 to 105,0 °C.

Questions about Waterproof Portable pH/pH-mV/ORP/Temperature Meter with Sensor Check™

What is this article?

Waterproof Portable pH/pH-mV/ORP/Temperature Meter with Sensor Check™ is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
