Description
PC850 portable pH/conductivity/TDS meter is a handy multiparameter handheld instrument for pH, conductivity (EC), TDS, ORP (electrode available separately) and temperature. Protected by a silicone sleeve and rated IP57 against water and dust, it is well suited to field measurements in demanding surroundings. The kit includes the 201T-F pH electrode with low-resistance glass membrane for fast, precise pH readings and the 2301T-S conductivity electrode based on BPB (Brush-resistant Platinum Black) technology, covering 0 to 200 mS/cm; both electrodes incorporate temperature sensors for automatic temperature compensation (ATC). A large backlit LCD simultaneously displays pH, conductivity and temperature together with calibration information, while 1- to 3-point automatic calibration and self-diagnosis streamline setup. A fold-out stand supports indoor use and the BNC connector accepts LabSen®-series electrodes for extended applications. Dimensions are 88×170×33 mm at 313 g (1,4 kg with case). The complete set from manufacturer Apera Instruments comprises the meter, both electrodes, pH buffers (pH 4,00 / 7,00 / 10,01) and EC standards (84 μS/cm; 1413 μS/cm; 12,88 mS/cm), screwdriver, manual and carrying case, powered by three AA batteries.

Questions about PC850 Portable pH/Conductivity/TDS Meter Kit
What is this article?
PC850 Portable pH/Conductivity/TDS Meter Kit is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in Conductivity meters & cells, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Instruments de précision.
A conductivity meter and its cell measure how well a solution carries current. The cell constant is the geometry that converts conductance to conductivity, and it is calibrated with a standard. Temperature compensation matters because conductivity rises with temperature.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
