Description

Winlab Data Line Photometer is a waterproof laboratory photometer supplied with software and a rechargeable battery unit for routine colorimetric and photometric analysis. On delivery it holds approximately 100 methods for Caldur®, Visocolor® Eco, Nanocolor®, Hach®, Lovibond® and WINLAB® tests, among others. Dedicated software allows roughly 50 further customer-specific calibration curves to be created and stored, with total method memory for up to 150 curves. Nine LEDs with filters cover wavelengths of 380, 430, 470, 500, 520, 560, 610, 700 and 810 nm. The extinction range is 0,500 to 3,000; electro-optical accuracy is stated from −0,100 to 2,000 at 1,5 % of the measured result, and photometric accuracy is ±3 % on filter. A waterproof housing and cuvette compartment, graphic display (128 × 64 pixel / 60 × 40 mm) with backlight and scratch-resistant glass cover, data logger for 1000 records, USB output, and on-display operating guidance support field and laboratory use. Power comes from four 1,25 V rechargeable batteries with the supplied charger. This instrument from manufacturer Windaus is offered as 1 piece for spectroscopy and water-analysis workflows.

Questions about Winlab Data Line Photometer

What is this article?

Winlab Data Line Photometer is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Windaus for laboratory use. It sits in Photometers & spectrophotometers, inside Spectroscopy & photometry, in Instruments de précision.

A photometer reads absorbance at one or a few wavelengths. A spectrophotometer scans or selects many. Both send light through a cuvette or a well. The wavelength range, UV or visible, and the bandwidth decide what can be measured. A visible-only instrument cannot read a nucleic acid at 260 nm.

A photometer or spectrophotometer sends light through a sample and reads how much was absorbed. In the range where the Beer–Lambert relation holds, absorbance tracks concentration. A refractometer reads how a liquid bends light, which tracks dissolved solids. A polarimeter reads the rotation of polarised light, the classical measurement for sugars. The lamp, the wavelength and the cuvette path length are the three things that have to be right before the number means anything. The optical quantities trace to NIST and the BIPM.
