Why HPLC fittings, tubing & inline filters?

HPLC fittings and tubing are numbered by bore. A wide bore after the column broadens the peaks. Finger-tight and wrench fittings, and stainless against PEEK, are different pressure ratings. An inline filter is the last screen before the column, and it clogs on purpose so the column does not.
