Description

96-well microplate, PS, F-bottom (chimney form), µCLEAR® is a polystyrene microtiter plate with 96 sample positions, chimney-form wells and a flat F-bottom in the µCLEAR® design. The plate is black and non-binding. Polystyrene (PS) is the construction material; well geometry is chimney form (Kaminform) with a planar F-bottom. Black µCLEAR® plates in this 96-well layout are used for microtiter and microtest (MTP) work when a black, non-binding polystyrene plate is specified. Ten pieces are supplied per pack. Chimney-form wells give a chimney-style wall profile above the flat well floor for multiwell sample organisation and liquid handling. The µCLEAR® designation together with black colour and a non-binding surface marks this variant in the 96-well PS range. From manufacturer Greiner Bio-One, the article is produced in Germany and is grouped with microtiter plates and microtest plates. Laboratories select this consumable when a black, non-binding 96-well polystyrene microplate with chimney-form F-bottom and µCLEAR® well base, packed ten per pack, is required for the protocol.

This article is part of Microplates, in Microplates, PCR & reaction tubes.

Questions about 96-well microplate, PS, F-bottom (chimney form), µCLEAR®

What is this article?

96-well microplate, PS, F-bottom (chimney form), µCLEAR® is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Greiner Bio-One for laboratory use. It sits in Microplates, inside Microplates, PCR & reaction tubes, in Lab consumables.

A microplate is an array of wells, commonly 96 or 384, in clear, black or white plastic. Clear is for absorbance. Black is for fluorescence. The well shape, flat or round bottom, and whether the plate is sterile and treated for cells, are the specification. Not every 96-well plate fits every reader.

A microplate is an array of wells so the same step can be done many times. A deep-well plate holds more volume. A PCR plate or a strip of tubes is thin-walled so the temperature of a cycler reaches the liquid quickly. A seal keeps the well from evaporating. The well number, the working volume and whether the plate is skirted for a robot are the choices. Diagnostic test systems are listed under ISO in vitro diagnostic systems. Methods are on PubMed.
