Description

AHN myPlate FP filter plate is a 96-well microfilter plate arranged in an 8 × 12 matrix with 96 individual outlet openings and a well capacity of 1,0 mL, manufactured to the SBS standard. Each well incorporates a polyethylene (PE) filter with a 20–60 µm pore-size range, making the plate suitable for particle-removing coarse filtration. The hydrophobic PE membrane can be used either as a prefilter or as a support filter in combination with other membranes and exhibits very good chemical resistance. Fabricated from high-purity polystyrene, the plate minimises any risk of sample contamination from material leachables. The myPlate® design supports efficient multi-well processing in analytical and preparative laboratory workflows that require reliable coarse particle removal. This product from manufacturer AHN Biotechnologie is supplied in a carton containing 5 × 5 pieces, giving 25 plates per pack. Both net and gross weight are 3,7 kg. The plates are non-sterile and ready for immediate use in filtration applications.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

What is this article?

AHN myPlate FP 96-wells, 1 mL, PE 20-60 µm, Case / 5 x 5 pcs. is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes AHN Biotechnologie for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
