Description

BOLA Gas Frit, Ø 15 x 15 mm, M 6 x 1, approx. 5 µm, microporous PTFE, is a sparging insert for uniform gas dispersion in laboratory washing bottles, columns and inlet assemblies. The frit is made of microporous polytetrafluoroethylene with an approximate pore size of 5 µm, promoting even bubbling of the gas stream as it enters the liquid. Outer diameter is 15 mm and length is 15 mm, with a receiving thread M 6 x 1 for mechanical coupling. Chemically inert microporous PTFE suits gas-handling duties where resistance to aggressive media and fine, consistent perling are required. This gas frit from manufacturer Bohlender is intended for use with compatible gas inlet tubes and related washing apparatus components. Its compact geometry supports modular build-up of gas washing systems without bulky fittings. Supplied as one piece with a net weight of 0,002 kg, it is aimed at analytical and preparative laboratories that need controlled, homogeneous gas introduction through a microporous PTFE interface with defined pore size and standardised thread connection.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

What is this article?

BOLA Gas Frits, Ø 15 x 15 mm M 6x1 ca. 5µm made of microporous PTFE is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
