Description

BOLA Pressure Equalisation Membranes for GL 18 are replaceable PTFE filter discs measuring Ø 16 x 0,2 mm with a pore size of 2,5 µm, offered in packs of 10 pieces. Intended for GL 18 pressure-equalising screw closures, the membranes provide a chemically resistant PTFE barrier so that process media contact only fluoropolymer during venting. Specified flow performance is 25 l/h at 0,5 bar and 85 l/h at 1 bar, enabling controlled gas exchange on mid-size laboratory bottles and reaction vessels. Using fresh membranes from manufacturer Bohlender restores original filtration behaviour after fouling or mechanical wear and supports reproducible differential-pressure response in daily laboratory practice. The defined geometry and 2,5 µm pore rating make these discs a convenient consumable for facilities that rely on BOLA equalisation fittings and need dependable PTFE membrane spares for chemical handling, sample storage and preparative work.

What is this article?

BOLA Membranes for compensation, GL 18, Ø 16 x 0,2 mm, 2,5µm PTFE Pack size: 10 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Membrane filters, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A membrane filter is the disc itself, without a syringe housing. Pore size, polymer and diameter are the specification, and the disc has to sit in a holder. Gridded membranes are for counting colonies. A membrane and a filter paper of the same diameter are not interchangeable.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
