Description

BOLA Round-bottom flask with GL necks, 500 ml, is a transparent, pore-free PFA flask with a central ground joint NS 29/32 and two side necks with GL 18 threads. Made from perfluoroalkoxy alkane (PFA), it is intended for distillation, collection and multi-neck reaction setups that benefit from fluoropolymer inertness. Nominal volume is 500 ml, overall height is 177 mm and sphere diameter is 107 mm, with three necks in total for flexible connection of condensers, probes or feed lines. Compatible HT laboratory screw fittings (series D 629-.) can be used on the GL 18 side necks. Net weight is 0,204 kg. Supplied as one piece from manufacturer Bohlender, the flask suits laboratories that need chemically resistant round-bottom ware for aggressive media or high-purity work. The pore-free transparent wall supports visual process control and easier cleaning between runs. Typical categories include round-bottom flasks, ground-joint flasks, distillation flasks and receiving flasks in preparative and analytical chemistry.

What is this article?

BOLA Round Bottom Flasks with Threaded GL Necks, 500 ml, 2 x GL18 1 Center socke is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Round-bottom flasks, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.

A round-bottom flask is the heating flask of a distillation or a reflux. The curved wall takes the heat, and the ground neck connects to a still head or a condenser. The joint size, not only the volume, has to match the rest of the set.

A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
