Description

b.safe olive is a straight hose barb adapter for connecting elastic tubing to b.safe Waste Caps in laboratory waste and solvent handling. The connection thread is NPT 1/4", and the olive is dimensioned for tubing inner diameters from 12,0 mm to 13,5 mm. Overall length is 48 mm with a through-bore of 10,0 mm, supporting free flow from larger flexible lines into the waste-cap interface. Material is milky-white polypropylene (PP), suitable for typical laboratory elastic hoses such as Viton®, Tygon® or silicone as indicated for this accessory. Net weight is 0,003 kg. Supplied as one piece from manufacturer Bohlender, the olive completes b.safe Waste Cap setups where a robust NPT 1/4" barb is required for soft tubing in the 12,0–13,5 mm ID range. Straight geometry keeps routing simple on the waste side of HPLC, synthesis or general lab fluid systems that already use b.safe caps and standardised NPT ports.

This article is part of Solvent waste caps, safety funnels & canisters, in Waste disposal.

What is this article?

b.safe Hose Connectors, NPT 1/4'', 12,0 - 13,5 mm PP milky white, connecting is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Solvent waste caps, safety funnels & canisters, inside Waste disposal, in Lab safety equipment.

A solvent waste cap and a safety funnel close a waste can so vapour does not fill the room, while still letting waste be poured in. The thread has to match the can. A filter and a level indicator are common features. An open beaker of waste solvent is not this article.

Laboratory waste is sorted before it is carried away. A solvent waste can has a cap and often a funnel that limits vapour. A sharps container is rigid and closable. An autoclave bag is for material that will be sterilised before it is ordinary waste. The container has to survive the chemical that goes into it. A bag that dissolves is not a container. Classification of the chemicals is on ECHA. Transport of dangerous goods is the UNECE framework. Workplace practice is EU-OSHA.
