Description

Centrifuge 5425 (EU-IVD) is a non-refrigerated benchtop microcentrifuge with rotary knob controls, supplied without a rotor, for 230 V / 50–60 Hz (EU) operation. Knob operation allows fast parameter changes during routine use. As a non-automatic centrifuge it is intended for separation of liquid substance mixtures from the human body and is specifically designed to be used as an accessory together with an in-vitro diagnostic device so that the IVD can be employed according to its intended purpose. The product meets the requirements of EU In-Vitro Diagnostic Regulation (IVDR) 2017/746. Eppendorf centrifuges are intended exclusively for indoor use and operation by trained specialist personnel. Net weight is 15,800 kg and gross weight 19,500 kg, with a packaging volume of 0,072 m³. Offered as a single unit without rotor, this INT-configured model from manufacturer Eppendorf gives laboratories flexibility to select a matching rotor while retaining EU-IVD conformity for diagnostic-support workflows on the open bench.

This article is part of Rotors, in Centrifuges.

Questions about Cent 5425,Knob,w/o Rotor,230V,INT

What is this article?

Cent 5425,Knob,w/o Rotor,230V,INT is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Eppendorf for laboratory use. It sits in Rotors, inside Centrifuges, in Lab instruments.

A centrifuge rotor is the rotating part that holds the tubes, and it is rated for a maximum speed and a maximum load. A swing-out rotor and a fixed-angle rotor pellet differently. A rotor from another centrifuge does not belong on this drive, even when it seems to fit.

A centrifuge separates by density. The rotor spins the sample and the force is reported as a multiple of gravity, not as a raw speed, because the same revolutions per minute are a different force at a different radius. A microcentrifuge takes small tubes. A benchtop or floor model takes larger rotors. The tube, the adapter and the rotor have to be the combination the manufacturer rated. An unbalanced load is how centrifuges fail. Measurement of the related quantities sits with the BIPM.
