Description

Centrifuge 5910 Ri with rotor S-4x750 is a refrigerated benchtop centrifuge with touchscreen control panel, supplied for 230 V/50–60 Hz (EU). The package includes round buckets and adapters for conical 5 mL, 15 mL and 50 mL vessels. Maximum speed is 4.800 × g (4,700 rpm). Mixed loading with two plate buckets and two round buckets adds flexibility, while maximum conical-vessel capacity per rotor is 56 × 5/15 mL or 28 × 50 mL. Optional aerosol-tight QuickLock® lids enable safer handling of hazardous samples; aerosol tightness is tested and certified by Public Health England, Porton Down. The instrument from manufacturer Eppendorf is ACT-certified via independent sustainability validation by My Green Lab. As a non-automatic centrifuge for separating liquid substance mixtures from the human body, it is intended for use as an accessory with an in-vitro diagnostic device under EU IVDR 2017/746 and is designed for indoor operation by trained personnel only.

This article is part of Rotors, in Centrifuges.

Questions about Centrifuge 5910 Ri, S-4x750, 230V

What is this article?

Centrifuge 5910 Ri, S-4x750, 230V is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Eppendorf for laboratory use. It sits in Rotors, inside Centrifuges, in Lab instruments.

A centrifuge rotor is the rotating part that holds the tubes, and it is rated for a maximum speed and a maximum load. A swing-out rotor and a fixed-angle rotor pellet differently. A rotor from another centrifuge does not belong on this drive, even when it seems to fit.

A centrifuge separates by density. The rotor spins the sample and the force is reported as a multiple of gravity, not as a raw speed, because the same revolutions per minute are a different force at a different radius. A microcentrifuge takes small tubes. A benchtop or floor model takes larger rotors. The tube, the adapter and the rotor have to be the combination the manufacturer rated. An unbalanced load is how centrifuges fail. Measurement of the related quantities sits with the BIPM.
