Description

CHROMAFIL filter cartridges with PTFE membrane are ready-to-use filtration units for clarifying liquids prior to instrumental analysis or further sample preparation. Each cartridge has a 3 mL volume format and a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membrane with a pore size of 0,20 µm, suited to removing fine particulates from aggressive organic solvents as well as many aqueous–organic mixtures. PTFE offers broad chemical resistance, making these cartridges useful when nylon or other hydrophilic membranes are less appropriate. Packed in units of 100 pieces, they support high-throughput filtration benches, method development and routine QC workflows in environmental, chemical and life-science laboratories. Manufacturer Macherey-Nagel supplies this CHROMAFIL format as a practical cartridge-style alternative for syringe or manifold-assisted filtration steps. The defined 0,20 µm cut-off helps protect sensitive HPLC, GC or spectroscopic systems from undissolved matter. Use them wherever chemically robust, small-volume membrane filtration with PTFE is required before chromatography or storage of prepared samples.

Questions about CHROMAFIL filtr. cart. PTFE, 3 mL,0.20µm

What is this article?

CHROMAFIL filtr. cart. PTFE, 3 mL,0.20µm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Macherey-Nagel for laboratory use. It sits in Syringe filters, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A syringe filter is a membrane in a plastic housing on a Luer fitting. Pore size, membrane polymer and diameter are the three choices. 0.2 µm is the sterilising and the HPLC-particle cut. 0.45 µm is the coarser clarification. Aqueous and solvent-resistant membranes are different polymers.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
