Description
DURAN® Erlenmeyer flask with wide neck is a conical laboratory flask produced from borosilicate glass 3.3, intended for versatile use in scientific and technical laboratories. The 300 ml nominal volume version delivers excellent chemical resistance, nearly inert behaviour and high working-temperature capability. Even wall-thickness distribution results in low thermal expansion and strong resistance to rapid temperature fluctuations, allowing safe operation during heating steps and temperature-change cycles. The wide neck permits convenient filling and cleaning, and the conical form facilitates effective mixing of solutions and suspensions. An easily readable scale with permanent white fired-on graduation markings supports practical volume measurement. Applications include cultivation, storage and transport, mixing of multiple components, heating, dilution of solutions and determination of liquid quantities. This original DURAN® wide-neck Erlenmeyer flask from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences is supplied as a single piece; the 300 ml size is not manufactured according to DIN EN ISO. Net weight is 0,135 kg.

Questions about DURAN® Erlenmeyer Flask, wide neck
What is this article?
DURAN® Erlenmeyer Flask, wide neck is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Erlenmeyer flasks, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.
An Erlenmeyer, or conical, flask has a flat base and a narrowing wall so a liquid can be swirled. It is the ordinary culture and titration flask. A baffled wall is a different article, used when the swirl must turn the liquid over.
A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
